Lyra Ramayrat

The world is full of possibilities.

My name is Lyra. This is my story.

About me

Hi there. Thank you for visiting.

Greetings! I'm Lyra Ramayrat, a third-generation Filipino-American based in Silicon Valley. I aspire to improve and be better each day — in the field of performing arts and business. I am committed in making a positive impact to my community and the whole world.

Everyday is a fun and busy day for me. My interests include the performing arts, singing, dancing, and social entrepreneurship. Outside of academics, I am either practicing (or performing) for a play or choir, leading our Women in STEM, teaching up and coming dancers, or helping keep families together by building a virtual work and talent marketplace through my service project VirtualPro.

Connect with me

I love learning and collaborating. If you are a young social impact founder/technologist, a theater geek, or dance choreographer (hiphop), connect with me. I am excited of what we can create together.

Performing arts

Theater and Choir

I love theater. The first time I performed was in my third grade. Then I played Mulan for my first lead role. I've participated in numerous plays, including roles in the Children's Musical Theater and Lincoln Performing Arts.

Eyes up. Hearts up. Minds sharp.
Compassion on full blast.

Okay, let's go.”

Technology and Leadership

Co-founder, VirtualPro

VirtualPro is a work and talent marketplace designed to provide work opportunities for digital workers in the Philippines. My brother and I started this project after learning that over 1.8 million overseas Filipino workers are separated from their families every year.

With a remote-first talent platform, our goal is to connect Filipino workers with businesses based in the US, so they can stay home, be present, and provide for their families.

My role as a co-founder is product management and marketing. I collaborate with the team on how to build the features that are helpful for our customers. I work with virtual professionals we've hired using the platform to help me manage my day-to-day activities.

This is my first technology venture so I'm learning as I operate and go-to-market. Wish me luck!

Social Impact

Build. Give. Create positive impact.

Giving is one of my favorite topics. I firmly believe in providing value first, whether it's to my schoolmates by raising awareness of STEM in women; or within my community to battle food insecurity; or to keep families together through technology.

“Give, and you will receive.”

Some of my volunteer activities include:

Sports

Physical peformance

To stay physically fit and active, I spend my free time on dancing and playing golf.

Dance

I have been a youth performance team member of my local dance studio (The Get Down Studios). I also dance in local studios like On One Studios where I was part of the Gobstoppers junior dance team. I also operate my own dance studio in San Jose, which I share with my dance friends.

Golf

Golf is a new adventure for me. Our family just started taking up golf for fitness and fun way to spend time together. I train at the Pruneridge Golf course and plan to join the Golf team in school as I get better.
